About the Photographer

If you ask me where I'm from I often give a mixed answer. I was born in Regina, Sask., and still have strong ties there, but realistically I grew up in Fort McMurray and have spent a total of 23 years in this community.

My stepdad and I shared many interests, not the least of which was a love of many different forms of art. He passed away when I was 18 and I inherited his camera. That was when I found my art medium.

Other people paint with brushes, sketch with graphite or draw out emotions on the stage — I was never good at any of those, so I gave up on the idea of ever becoming an artist. Instead I decided to go the practical route, combining my love for photography with my love for the written word. I enrolled in a Journalism program at Mount Royal College in Calgary.

After almost six years in the newspaper business, I realized i was growing tired of it and decided to strike out on my own. Now I paint with light and pixels. I've finally taken the plunge and listened to the people who for years told me I should put my photography talent to good use. I am also currently a Visual Art & Design student at Keyano College.

I look forward to providing a unique photography experience for those around me.
